Cellist Hanna Park explores diverse artistic approaches to share the beauty and value of nature, the ocean, and the sky through music. She actively participates in interdisciplinary projects centered on Ocean Literacy, investigating the connections between art and the environment.
As a member of UN Ocean Decade Endorsed Projects and the UNESCO-IOC Blue Thread Endorsed Project, she contributes to initiatives that bridge art, science, and society.
Through these activities, she seeks to demonstrate how music can serve as a meaningful language connecting people, communities, and the natural world while expanding the boundaries of artistic expression.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Cellist Hanna Park was drawn from an early age to the rich, resonant sound of the cello. She still remembers the day she first held the instrument in her hands; from that moment on, the cello became more than a choice—it became her voice.
After graduating from Hanyang University College of Music and continuing her studies in Germany, she began to develop a distinct artistic identity. Beyond technical virtuosity, her musical approach places great importance on breath, structure, and emotional depth, seeking performances that communicate with sincerity and lasting resonance. The opportunity to connect closely with audiences and share meaningful musical experiences remains at the heart of her artistic journey.
During her time in Germany, she performed as a member of the Allenberg String Quartet, where she was immersed in the rich traditions of European chamber music and broadened her artistic perspective. Following her return to Korea, she continued her work through solo recitals and as a member of Quartet Su, learning the values of friendship, community, and communication through collaborative music-making. These experiences deepened her understanding of music as a shared human experience.
As a soloist, she has collaborated with the Jeonju Civic Choir and the National Chorus of Korea, exploring the unique relationship between instrumental and vocal expression. Inspired by the organic, singing quality of choral music, she strives to create performances that blend naturally within larger musical textures while maintaining an individual voice. She is also actively engaged in contemporary music, collaborating with composers, premiering new works, and developing innovative programs that challenge conventional concert formats.
In recent years, Hanna Park has expanded her artistic focus toward the relationship between music, nature, and society. Through interdisciplinary projects centered on Ocean Literacy, she explores how music can communicate the beauty and value of nature, the ocean, and the sky. 첼리스트 박한나는 어린 시절부터 유난히 깊고 낮은 소리에 이끌려 첼로의 묵직한 울림에 매료되었다. 처음 첼로를 손에 쥔 그날의 감각은 지금도 선명하게 기억되며, 그 순간 이후 첼로는 단순한 악기가 아닌 자신만의 언어가 되었다.
한양대학교 음악대학을 졸업하고 독일 유학을 통해 학업과 연주 활동을 이어가면서 자신의 음악적 색깔을 본격적으로 찾아가기 시작했다. 화려한 기교를 넘어 음악의 호흡과 구조, 그리고 감정의 밀도를 중요하게 생각하며, 더욱 깊고 긴 호흡으로 음악을 바라보는 연주자로 성장해 왔다. 관객과 가까운 무대에서 진심으로 소통하고 음악을 통해 서로의 감정을 나누는 순간들은 지금도 첼로를 연주하는 가장 큰 이유가 되고 있다.
독일에서 Allenberg String Quartet의 멤버로 활동하며 유럽의 다양한 음악적 전통과 실내악 문화를 경험하였고, 이를 통해 음악을 바라보는 시야를 넓힐 수 있었다. 귀국 후에는 독주회와 콰르텟 수(Quartet Su) 활동을 통해 수많은 정기연주회를 이어가며 우정과 사회, 그리고 소통의 가치를 음악 속에서 배워왔다. 매 공연마다 연주자들과 함께 만들어가는 음악의 의미를 몸소 체득하며 실내악이 지닌 특별한 힘을 경험하고 있다.
또한 전주시립합창단과 국립합창단 등과의 협연을 통해 합창이 만들어내는 거대한 울림 속에서 또 하나의 목소리로 존재하는 법을 배웠다. 노래하듯 자연스럽게 흐르면서도 자신만의 존재감을 잃지 않는 연주를 추구하며, 현대음악과 창작곡에도 꾸준한 관심을 가지고 다양한 작곡가들과 협업하고 있다. 새로운 작품의 초연과 기존 형식에 얽매이지 않는 프로그램 기획을 통해 연주자로서의 역할과 표현 영역을 확장해 나가고 있다.
최근에는 음악을 매개로 자연, 바다, 그리고 하늘이 지닌 아름다움과 가치를 관객들과 공유하고자 다양한 예술적 시도를 이어가고 있다. 해양 이해 증진(Ocean Literacy)을 주제로 한 융복합 프로젝트에 참여하며 예술과 환경의 연결 가능성을 탐구하고 있으며, UN Ocean Decade 공식 인증 프로젝트와 UNESCO-IOC Blue Thread 인증 프로젝트의 일원으로 활동하고 있다. 이를 통해 음악이 사회와 환경, 그리고 미래 세대를 연결하는 새로운 언어가 될 수 있음을 보여주고자 하며, 예술과 과학, 생태가 만나는 지점에서 음악의 새로운 가능성을 모색하고 있다.
그녀의 음악 여정은 지금도 계속되고 있다. 끊임없는 레퍼토리 탐구와 새로운 협업, 다양한 무대를 통해 관객들과 만나고 있으며, 자연과 인간, 예술과 생태계를 연결하는 창작과 해석의 가교로서 자신만의 음악 세계를 확장해 나가고 있다.
